Astrotheology As The Birth Of The Modern Church

By Maude Moses

Astrotheology is the worship and a belief based on the heavenly bodies. This worship has been in existence since the ancient time. The fore-founders of the earth in history relied on the sky to base their argument of good happening or doom in their lives. The stars and other heavenly bodies were like the guiding tools for their daily planning.

The nomadic people used nature to carry on their daily activities. The hot-desert sun prevented their movement during the day while the cool night gave them a desirable atmosphere of movement. To understand why some things did happen, they associated the occurrences depending on the way the sky appeared. Such events or happenings included bad omen, signs and potent.

Many calendar years have passed, when the ancient Polynesians astrologist and marine voyagers used the sky to predict climate changes. They did discover the comets, asteroids and other heavenly bodies. With them they studied their behavior in relation to the weather patterns.

This godlike science has been used for a long time to bring about human civilization. The astrology history dates as early as the dawn of man. Astrology is said to be the pointer of astronomy, the heavens investigating science. The east races following early civilization based their beliefs on stars. They did believe that heavenly bodies were the origin and reason of all that happened.

Astrology gave a need for priesthood study. This was witnessed in Egypt and Mesopotamia. Euphrates and Alkado-Sumerians believed in astrology theology as they worshiped the stars. The professional astrologers; Chaldeans (assyro-babylonian) priest, originally worshiped the stars. This holds proof in Zodiac religious symbolism of the oldest cuneiform text.

During the Chaldean time the sun, moon, and five planets differentiated the twelve houses of the Zodiac, this depended on their position and character. Saturn as a planet was viewed as the ruler of heavens and other planet. The Osiris worship was an early form of astrotheology.
