And He Rested: Proof by Silence

By Jim Staley

There is no such recording, no such debate since there was never such a memo that was ever offered, the Sabbath was always relevant and it still is today. There is absolutely no evidence that the early believers did not celebrate the Sabbath. None! Hopefully you can see there is an abounding amount of information they kept it and you know very well what a lot of the argument comes out says that they never said "keep the Sabbath" or if perhaps the Sabbath is the most foundational wall in most of first century Judaism, do they have to tell them to do it when everybody knows to do it.

That's like proclaiming that you've had your license to your whole life, you're driver's license, that we have to come back where we reinstitute the entire constitution of America and then we have to come back and inform you to stop at a red light or take a look at a stop sign. It's understood as it's always been there.

There's no reason to share with them to do something that is so simple and easy fundamental to their faith. But here's the number one proof that the Sabbath is still relevant today, look at this, Matthew 24:15 says, "therefore if you notice the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (Verse 16) "then let those people who are in Judea flee to the mountains." (Verse 17) Allow him to who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. (Verse 18) And allow him to who is in the field not go back and get his clothes. (Verse 19)

"But woe to people who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days. (Verse 20) And pray that your flight may not be in the winter or about the Sabbath. (Verse 21) For when you will see great tribulation, such as not ever been before forever of time nor ever is going to be."

What are they talking about? He could be specifically talking about the end of time, the truly amazing tribulation, the very beginning of the great tribulation, and Jesus the Messiah, Yeshua says do not pray that it's not on the Sabbath he is expecting that most of his believers will observe Sabbath keeping.

If he failed to expect that, he would certainly not have mentioned that pray that it is not on the Sabbath because if it didn't matter that he certainly would not have said that. And so the very fact that he is telling the believers how the end days, right before the Messiah comes back to pray that is not on the Sabbath proves with out a shadow of doubt that in the rear of his mind I would submit right in front of his mind he could be expecting his followers to trust and keep the Sabbath.
