In an independent baptist church, there are three main services or activities that you should take note of. These are the core activities that the said church usually prefers. A lot of people actually also like the services offered in this church since they are relatively simple and much focused. The three core activities of the baptist church are hymns, prayer requests, and sermons. It is expected that you will actively participate in these three services to enjoy your experience in this kind of church.

Singing hymns in a baptist church is an essential for any activities in the said establishment. Usually, the services or activities in this kind of church begins and concludes with a hymn. The people from this church refer to a hymn book where they choose the appropriate hymns for any kind of activities that they are conducting. Hymns are actually symbols of the Baptists to profess their worshipping to God. If you have interest in singing, then you may partake in the choral singing of hymns.

Another integral part of a baptist church service would have to be sermons. This is considered to be the middle part of the whole service. It is a discussion of some sort where the pastor has a topic in mind and is discussed to the rest of the people. This activity is actually a free-flowing type, so expect that the pastor will be expressive of their opinions rather than just following a standard script for discussion. Other styles of sermons have also been popularized such as illustrative types wherein images are used most of the time.

Last but not the least, prayer requests are the part of the service in which the people present in the service are given the freedom to ask assistance from other folks contained in the service to include them in their prayers. Almost all these requests are accumulated by the deacon. This is regarded as being an essential part of the service because prayer is viewed as their type of communication with God.
