When is the rapture? That is the question on the minds of many Christians as well as non-believers. Since his death, several people have tried predicting the end of the world; however, every person has failed. According to the bible, God in heaven is the only one who can tell when this event will take place.
Although many men try, no one can predict the exact time of Jesus' return. Several theologians have tried to predict the end by reading the sign of the times; however, in the Book of Matthew chapter 24, Jesus tells his followers that no man knows the time or hour of his return. He continues to explain to the disciples that even the angles in Heaven do not know; only the father knows. Even Jesus does not know when he will return.
According to scripture, believers who died fighting the good fight will rise first and ascend to meet him in the clouds. Next, a group of believers who are still alive will ascend into the clouds to be with him. Those that are left will go through the great tribulation. Similar to Jesus descending from heaven, no one knows who is taken and who is left. The bible simply states while two are working in the field, one will be taken and the other will be left to work the vineyard.
The great tribulation is referenced twice in scripture. It is written about by the prophet Daniel as well as by the disciple John in the book of Revelations. Daniel says the events of the tribulation will happen in two three and one-half year spans.
Fortunately, Christ provides his followers with comfort. He tells them to endure to the end of the tribulation. Jesus made the Christians a promise. He said if they hold on to the end, they will be saved. The second coming of Jesus marks the end of this time. Also called the final death, at this time, the beast and his followers are thrown in the lake of fire and brimstone. Afterwards the old heaven and old earth will pass away and a new everlasting one will come down.
In Matthew, a popular gospel, Jesus provides his followers with signs of the times. He warns the people that they can read the weather but they cannot discern the signs for the end of time. The disciples are instructed to carefully listen and understand his words so that no man is able to deceive them.
During the end of the world there are going to be wars. People are also going to hear about wars. The world will also experience earthquakes, famines and pestilences in strange places. These events are only indications of the beginning of sorrows. Christ followers are warned that they will be tortured and killed for the Lord's namesake. As a comfort, they are told if they endure to the end, his followers will be saved.
When is the rapture (http://www.churchofgodcolumbiana.com) going to take place is the question on everyone's mind. Living a God focused life is the only way to be sure that the believers are caught up during the rapture. All the instructions a person needs is written in the Bible.
