Of all of the memories I have of growing up, one of the memories that I value the most was the day I received my first communion, and I felt privileged to participate in this sacred ritual, and absolutely adored my new stunning communion dress. When I initially became a mother myself, I dreamed of sharing this important tradition with my children, but since my first two children were boys, I was worried that I would never be able to buy that perfect baptism dress, until I found out I was expecting a girl.
This is not to say that my sons did not receive their first communion, it is just that they were not wearing a pretty dress when they did! When my daughter was born, I was so excited to start shopping for a communion dress, but I was able to exercise a small bit of self control, as I knew I would need to wait until she was the right age so I would know what size she would need and make sure the dress would fit her right and look perfect on her.
Well, life continued on as it always does, and I as the years passed, I gave birth to another son who I was sad to realize would also not be wearing a fluffy dress for his communion. Eventually, I realized that it was time for my daughter to receive her first communion and began to eagerly prepare for it, scheduling the time, talking to the priest, and ensuring that she would understand what was going on and what her first communion would mean.
I did all of that first so that I would have more time to spend shopping for a communion dress and ensuring that it was going to be an extraordinarily memorable experience for my delightful little girl. As it turned out, I did not have to do much shopping because I was casually chatting with a friend who had had an incredible little christening gown for her baby that I had absolutely adored.
My friend told me that while she had shopped at a lot of different stores, she found what she was looking for online, so she showed me the website and told me that there was a huge selection of communion dresses as well. When I got home I hopped online and was happy to see that she was correct and they did have a remarkable selection of beautiful dresses, and after browsing and debating, I finally was able to choose a stunning dress that I knew would be perfect for her and would help us make some great memories!
